After months of working towards DVD cover that we like we have finally settled on one! These graphics can be so key to people picking the DVD up off the shelf. This is a huge praise God! Special thanks goes out to a homeschooling family that sacrificed hours of computer time to help us out. This just reminds me of how really necessary it is for independent Christian filmmakers to have access to a godly support group.

I want to take a minute and thank everyone who is helping out with this project. There are a lot of very interesting movies coming out from various filmmakers in the next few months and I understand that many of you may be overwhelmed with our emails and updates! We just want you to know how much we appreciate your assistance.

As we have been working at preparing the final DVD to be sent out for replication I have had the opportunity to watch the film several times over. It truly bowls me over how many volunteers God has blessed this film with. The movie has a number of school hallway scenes, public spaces, and even a coffee shop depicted in it – all with extras milling around. Many of those extras sacrificed home schooling hours to volunteer on the set. Watching the behind the scenes reminds me of the dedicated crew that the Lord provided. Just this evening I had the chance to connect with one of the cast members to discuss some excellent Creole seasoning he introduced me to (yes… it was on my dinner as well as my lunch).

Bringing up Bobby is truly an independent film – no studios involved, no money being thrown at us, no advance distribution deals. This has been a project that the Lord has already done great things with and it is not even out of DVD yet (though we are just a few weeks away from a release date). It may be indie, but there are a lot of excited people waiting to see their names in the credits! Thanks again for your help and prayers.

We still need help! The Christian film world lives via the church. You can help us a lot by organizing a screening of Bringing up Bobby at your church or organization. It does not take a lot of work and is a very inexpensive outreach to the community. Church leaders and members of the media can even preview clips of the movie online! But don’t just push this off on your pastor! They may be overwhelmed. Prayerfully consider taking an active role in setting up a date/time/place for a screening.
