Distribution Update

What a year 2008 was! We saw the filming of BRINGING UP BOBBY and the entire post-production process. Wow.

At this stage of the game BRINGING UP BOBBY is currently looking for distribution. The project is done and currently sits at 93 minutes, which is the ideal length for a comedy. Early small screenings of the film have shown it to be very popular with teenagers, which is great because that is one of the targeted markets. We’ve had several people tell us that they can’t stop quoting it!

Distribution is a long, difficult process as options are weighed, contracts are written and rewritten, and numbers are crunched. It takes a lot of time and money in order to create a film project like this one, so we have to be certain that all of that is acknowledged when working out a deal.

We have had several exciting offers come into the office in the last few weeks and really need the prayers of as many people as we can get. This is a pivotal time for Glowing Nose as we continue to step up our game with the podcast, placing Pint Size Parables on the web, and adding teaser trailers to the website. Could you please take a few moments to share these excellent resources with your friends and family? You can even find links to post them on your Facebook and Myspace accounts.

The big question we keep getting is, “when will the movie be released?” The answer is simple: whenever we are confident that the best distribution deal has been reached. We’d love to get the movie onto DVD for a summer release, but it is entirely dependent on a distribution agreement being worked out. So, if you want to see BOBBY, get on your knees and pray! Thank you for your continued support of BRINGING UP BOBBY!

Amen! I pray that God gives you both wisdom as you seek for the best opportunity and deal. Good Luck!

Sweet! I’m REALLY excited about this film… I’ll keep your distribution hunt in prayer. Oh yeah, and is this film going straight to DVD or is it going to theaters?

Distribution will decide whether or not the movie goes into theaters. That’s really not for us to decide at this point. Every filmmaker would love to see their film in theaters. Even if it doesn’t go there, churches will still be able to show the movie, which is just like a movie theater (screen, seats, sound system) with the added bonus of hymnals in close proximity.
